Please join us Sunday Night for the
Lamoine Emergency ARC Sunday Evening Net.
Net time is 8:00 PM local time.
Good evening all.
I have great news, good news and news. The great news is that the
antenna(s) on the tower at Horne lodge have a good swr. So even
though the repeater antenna is not straight up / down, it is operational.
(remember to lean to the left when transmitting!!!) the good news
is that the repeater is back up and running. If you own an Astron
power supply remember that the transistors on the outside are "hot
and can be shorted out blowing the fuse on the ac input! The news
is . . . .
that the repeater still appears to be very noisy on the input. When
we first powered up the repeater (after replacing the fuse) the input
was OK. but as it was used, and heated up, it appears to get noisy.
AG9Y is going to get me the second Micor that was built for the .06
repeater. As soon as he can get that to me, I will change them out
and make sure that it is a radio issue. There is a slight chance
that it is a controller issue. If so we will deal with it.
Just a quick update for all who are waiting to talk on the .06 machine.
finally thanks to all who came out to the tower site to help when
they heard I was testing. It was like the "old days"! I really
enjoyed the company.
73's
Rich
