Survey of storm damage near the Quad City Airport in Moline...

A team has surveyed the storm damage along the west side of the Quad
City Airport in Moline from Sunday. Considerable damage was done to
homes... trees... power lines... and out buildings on the west side of
the Airport. The damage pattern is consistent with that of a
downburst or microburst.

Measuring equipment located nearby at the Airport recorded a peak
wind gust of 107 mph from the storm. This measurement was confirmed
with backup equipment that is operated by the FAA.

Additional damage surveys for Whiteside County... southeast Iowa...
and northeast Missouri will be available later today or tomorrow.
