BBARC Hamfest set for Dec. 9th in Carthage, IL

The Big Bend Amateur Radio Club (BBARC) of Hancock County Illinois will be
hosting its third annual hamfest and electronic show at the Hancock County
4-H Extension Center, Carthage, Illinois, Rt 94 North on Saturday, December
9, 2006 from 8 AM - 1 PM.

Many hamfests are taking a beating with high gas prices - some have even
stopped having them altogether.
If the tradition of hamfests is to continue - hams need to get out and go to
a hamfest.
It really hard to attract vendors when attendance is low. If our vendors
make the effort, please try to attend!
Right now, the weather forecast is looking great and all major highways in
the area are clear and relatively ice free.
It will be an excellent time to purchase electronics, radio equipment and
wire as several of our dealers are wanting to reduce their inventory before
the new year - meaning lower prices! Current vendors are coming in from
Champaign (2), Decatur, Pawnee, and Carthage, IL and Kansas City KS.There
will be VE testing 10 AM Saturday morning on site for persons wanting to get
their ham license. Refreshments and door prizes too! Admission is just $3.

If you would like to reserve a table ($10 in advance, $15 at the door), call
now!
