Heat Advisory
329 PM CDT Sat Jul 23 2005
...Heat advisory remains in effect until 6 am CDT Monday...
Temperatures will remain hot this evening...and even climb several
more degree in eastern Iowa and Illinois as clouds thin. Heat
index readings will be in the 100 to 115 degree range through 8
PM...before dropping into the lower to mid 80s during the early
morning hours.
Sunday will be even hotter...with temperatures in the 100 to 105
degree range. These temperatures combined with dew points in the
lower 70s...will push heat index readings into the 110 to 115
degree range. If dew points remain in the mid to upper 70s through
late morning...heat index readings may climb even higher and a
excessive heat warning may be required.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
