445 am CDT Sat Jul 23 2005
...Heat advisory extended from 10 am this morning to 6 am CDT
Monday...
The heat advisory has been extended from 10 am this morning to
6 am CDT Monday.
High temperatures on Saturday will climb into the 95 to 100 degree
range with dewpoints in the low 70s. This will produce heat index
readings of 105 to 110 Saturday afternoon. Temperatures of 75 to
80 Saturday night will keep heat indexes in the 80s.
Sunday will be even hotter...with temperatures in the 100 to 105
degree range. These temperatures combined with dew points in the
lower 70s...will push heat index readings into the 110 to 115
degree range.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
