Blandinsville - John "Ed" Morrison, 77, of Blandinsville, died at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. He was born on February 25, 1928 in Galesburg, to John E. and Gildys Marie Morrison. He married Margaret L. "Maggie" Starbuck on October 17, 1951 in Galesburg. She died on March 22, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by three sons, Jim Morrison of Springfield, MO., Tom Morrison of Gainsville, TX., Danny Morrison of Springfield, MO.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Morrison of Tuscumbia, MO.
Mr. Morrison lived in Blandinsville most of his life. He was an Army veteran from 1947 to 1949. He worked for the Blandinsville Police Department, was a supervisor at Haeger Pottery, an inspector at McGraw-Edison and at NTN Bower. Following his retirement, he drove a school bus for several years. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville, with Rev. Lyren Haney officiating. Burial will be in the Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville where full military rites will be conducted by the Blandinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.
