Thanks to Duane N9SSN for posting this National VOAD news.
For all here on the LeArc reflector, Illinois has a statewide VOAD group,
chaired this year by Major Patrick McPherson WW9E of the Salvation Army,
and Mr. Dave Lattan, WD9EBQ is our District Emergency Coordinator for IL
VOAD/ARES matters currently, and have passed along this article to them.
In the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES), our many ARES registered
amateur radio operators may be called on to provide emergency
communications support in ARES for such served agencies as IL VOAD, in
addition to local government, NWS, American Red Cross, Salvation Army and
others.
