Lorena Davis

Rushville -- Lorena R. Davis, 98, of Rushville died at 12:30 P.M. =
Friday, March 21, 2003, at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home.

Born September 2, 1904, in Brooklyn Township, Schuyler County, to Rolla =
Sr. and Minnie Ryan Hightower, she married Ernest Davis on January 22, =
1925, in Quincy.  He died April 19, 2001.

She also was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are one son, Merle (and Audrey) of Havana; one daughter, =
Louise (and Edward) Ward of Rushville; four brothers, Joseph Hightower =
of Colchester, Bernard Hightower and Rolla Hightower Jr. both of Macomb, =
and Robert Hightower of Kirksville, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 21 =
great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital Surgical =
Dressing Committee and the ABC Community Club.

She taught Sunday school at Poe Baptist Church near Timewell for many =
years.

She was a member of Ripley Church of God in Ripley.

Services will be at 1 P.M. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in =
Rushville, where visitation will be one hour before.  The Rev. Dr. E. =
Ambrose Stump will officiate.  Burial will be in Mount Horeb Cemetery =
near Golden.

Memorials may be made to the Call-Schuyler Area Hospice or Snyder's =
Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home.
