Winter Weather Advisory
400 PM CST Thu Feb. 13 2003

...A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Friday through
Saturday morning...

A mixture of freezing rain and sleet is expected to develop late
tonight...then change over to all snow by Friday evening.
Temperatures rising just above freezing during the afternoon period
may allow the precipitation to briefly change to all rain for a
while...but not before significant ice accumulations occur. An ice
glaze accumulation of a quarter inch...up to a half inch may be
possible by late Friday afternoon. Areas along and south of a
Keosauqua...to Roseville Illinois line are more likely to experience
a heavier ice glazing. Snow accumulations are expected to range from
1 to 3 inches by Saturday morning. Strong northeast winds from 20 to
30 mph Friday night into Saturday morning may cause some blowing and
drifting snow with poor visibility. Significant ice accumulations
followed by snowfall...will create hazardous walking and driving
conditions. Therefore...a Winter Storm Warning has been issued.

A Winter Storm Warning is issued when severe winter weather is
expected to occur. Heavy snow and...or ice are forecast to
accumulate in the affected areas causing hazardous driving
conditions. Those with travel plans in the warning area are advised
to choose an alternate route...or should use extreme caution if
travel is unavoidable.
