Fellow ARRL Members:

It's not too late to send in your Reply comments on the SAVI
Technologies
proposal (RM-10051) now up for consideration by the FCC as part of ET
Docket 01-278. The deadline for filing comments is 12 March, 2002. You

can do this via the Internet.

The URL listed in this message is the FCC web page for its Electronic
Comments Filing System (ECFS). You can follow the process listed on
this
page and make almost any kind of filing to the FCC. Because of this
flexibility, you have to be very careful in setting up your ECFS cover
sheet. I suggest you download, print, and read the step-by-step
instructions. Then keep the instructions at your side when you make
your
filing. You can send your actual comments as an attached file using one
of
the formats suggested on site, or if they are brief, you can type or
paste
them directly into your ECFS form.

When all is ready and you send your reply comment, it will take the
system
a while to digest it, depending on the speed of your Internet
connection.
Once this is completed, you should be able to print out a transmission
"receipt" that is legal proof you have filed your comments.

I urge as many of you as possible, to file comments opposing Savi
petition.
If granted by the FCC, it will make the 70 Cm band largely unusable.
And
if it happens there, it will probably happen in all our spectrum
allocations.
