Here is an update on my son's radio problem. Being a Coast Guard =
veteran and former USCG radioman, he is familiar with the maritime =
frequencies. Lives in the state of Vermont, in the Green mountains. If =
any of you know of the type of marine radio he is interested in, let me =
know.
Thanks.

Dad,
I found a dealer in Burlington who was super helpful. I've decided to =
give up. Battery replacement was $80. When I took the unit apart it =
had one crystal, a 142.1 mhz that is strictly a navy freq. Crystal =
replacement was nearly $30/ea. I need at least 3 freqs. Repair of unit =
if needed was $48/hr. So, I've learned something, but at a price. I =
have decided to continue to shop around and do without this year. If =
you come across a VHF hand held or other marine radio with chnls 16, 22a =
and another wking freq, please advise.
I went four wheeling last night up on the ridge and ran into a moose. =
He just stood and stared then ambled off. Boy was I muddy when I got =
home.
Eli and I have started preps for the fishing trip. We caught 6 doz. =
nightcrawlers Sun. night, we are prepping the boat and making lists. My =
buddy Mike is going with us since Stuart has ball games this weekend and =
finals Mon/Tues. Boy is he upset.
Anthony
