Howdy, Guess I should have done this first but who knows what? My FT847 did
not make
my reserve of 1,000.00 bux. This amount was mentioned in the description of
the item. But
the bidders either did not want to buy or did not read as the high bid was
952.00. ??
Who knows what?
Anyway the 847 is still for sale and I will take 1k bucks for it and I will
ship it to the lower
48 for that price. If you know anyone who is interested have them email me.

The FT 847 includes both optional Collins RX filters ssb and cw. Also
included is the standard
hand mike, the MD-100A8X desk mike, an N5NJ amplifier interface box, the DC
power cord,
manual, and original boxes for the radio and mike. Everything is used but in
very nice shape
and works as it is supposed to. No flaws that I know of.
The 847 is 160 meters through 6 meters with general coverage RX and 100
watts output on
CW/SSB/FM and about 20 watts on AM. It is also all mode on 2 and 432/440 at
50 watts output.
This radio will do all the repeater splits and is set up for Satellite work
as well. Lots of memories
and DSP. A serious weak signal rig on 6, 2 and 432 because of the HEP front
end on those bands.
Last AES catalog showed the 847 at 1249.00 which included a coupon that
expired on 3/31/02.
The Collins filters are listed at 159.99 each. The MD100A8X mike is listed
at 129.99. Bob Naumann's
interface costs 35.00. The N5NJ interface brings the 4 bands out from a DIN
connector on the
back of the rig to a little box that has 4 RCA jacks on it to hard key an
amplifier for the various
bands HF/6/2/432. The radio has SO239 antenna jacks for HF, 6 and 2 meters.
The 432/440
jack is an N connector. 4 antenna jacks in all.
Anyway that's the scoop. The Ebay auction page with photo for a few days is
