Hi All,

Mark your calendars again this year for SkyWarn Recognition Day!
December 7 has been set. This year we will be able to test the new
PERMANENT hf antenna that was installed by the local Davenport Club
(thanks a million folks). Who knows, maybe this will be the year our
office sets a new record. As I get more information, I'll pass it
along. Any planning ideas and suggestions are most welcome. Take care.

Jim

Central Region WCMs...

I've had a few inquiries whether or not there
will be a NWS amateur radio event
(SKYWARN Recognition Day) this year.
The answer is "yes"! We are still in the
planning stages, but I can tell you that
the date has been set by the ARRL and
the NWS: Saturday, December 7, 2002
(0000 - 2400 UTC).

As has been the usual practice for the past
several years, I will send an info packet
to your MICs. There will also be a web
site that will contain info. I hope to have it
all ready to go by the end of July.
