LONGER DESCRIPTION OF USER COMMANDS.

GENERAL COMMANDS

108 # - User Messages -

The repeater can store up to eight messages which can provide
information to the users of the repeaters. These messages are played by
sending 108 and the message number you wish to play. Example - 1084
will play user message number 4. Currently the first 3 User Messages
are being used to store the most recent weather information for the
area. 1081 will play the first part of the message. If the message
requires more than one area to store, then the first message will tell
you to press 1082. 1082 will then play the second part of the weather
message. And if the message is long enough 1083 will be used for the
last part.

There are still open messages we can use if anyone has an idea on what
should be recorded into them. For instance, we might be able to store
the minutes from the last club meeting in some of the user messages if
people feel this would be useful. Other ideas are welcome.

----------

110 - Tone Test -

Allows you to test your DTMF tones. Send 110 followed by the tones you
wish to test. When you unkey, the repeater will read back the buttons
you have pressed. Note - The repeater responds with "Sierra" when the
"*" asterisk key is pressed and with "P" when the "#" pound key is
pressed.

----------

118 - Time Talk -

Plays back the current time.

----------

143 - Date Talk -

Plays back the current date. The format is the numeric number of the
month followed by the day of the month. The year is not given.

Example - July 4, 2002 would be spoken by the repeater as "Seven Four."

----------

AUTOPATCH COMMANDS

911 - Emergency Autodial -

Calls the McDonough County 911 dispatch center. Note - More emergency
numbers can be added. We need to decide on a list so additional numbers
can be programmed.

----------

7 - Autopatch -

Enter 7 followed by the number you wish to call. Example - 78330000
will dial the number 833-0000

----------

120 - Autopatch Extend -

Extends the length of time of an Autopatch.

----------

# - Autopatch Cancel -

Used to end an autopatch call.

----------

VOICE MAILBOX COMMANDS

130* - Record Mail -

The repeater will ask you who the message is for. Reply with the
callsign of the person you are sending the message to. The repeater
will then tell you to record your message. Keep it short as there is
only 15 seconds for your message. When you unkey the repeater will tell
you your message has been saved.

----------

130 - List Active Mailbox Tracks -

List any messages currently in the voice mailbox. If there are no
messages in the mailbox, the repeater will respond with "There are no
voice messages."

----------

130 # - Play Mail Message -

There are currently 3 slots reserved for voice mail. The repeater will
announce a list of what messages it has during an ID. Or you can send
the 130 command to list the messages. Each message is proceeded by a
number as who it is addressed to is read. To play the message send 130
and the message number. Example - The repeater list three messages. It
might say 1 - AG9Y. 2 - KA9SQB. 3 - KC9AHI. To play the message for
AG9Y you would enter 1301. The KA9SQB message can be played by entering
1302. And the KC9AHI message by entering 1303.

----------

130** - Erase Last Message Played -

This will erase the last message you had the repeater play. This clears
the memory slot so it can be used for a new message.

----------

130*** - Audio Test -

The repeater will record up to twenty seconds of audio. When you unkey,
it will play it back. This will allow you to hear how you sound to the
repeater. Note - Currently either the audio level to or from the
digital recorder is set too high. Your audio will sound better if you
back away from the microphone and speak softly.
