A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch Monday (March 30) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated to leave south base during a 3:20 to 4:17 a.m. PDT launch window. Following liftoff, the vehicle may fly towards the south-southeast and roughly parallel the coast as it carries the Transport-16 mission into orbit. Eight minutes after launch, the first stage will attempt to land on a drone ship positioned down range.

Weather permitting, the event could be visible to the unaided eye over a wide area. For a better view, use tripod-mounted binoculars or a spotting scope. An astronomical telescope with a low-power eyepiece will probably provide the best view.
