Today's planned launch of an Alpha rocket from Vandenberg SFB has been delayed to no earlier than March 1 between 4:50 and 6:50 p.m.
A Falcon 9 rocket is tentatively scheduled for launch Sunday morning (March 1) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated to leave south base during a midnight to 4:00 a.m. PST launch window. Following liftoff, the vehicle will probably fly towards the south-southeast and roughly parallel the coast as it carries several Starlink satellites into orbit. Eight minutes after launch, the first stage will attempt to land on a drone ship positioned down range.
Weather permitting, the launch could be visible to the unaided eye over a wide area.
For a better view of the launch, use tripod-mounted binoculars or a spotting scope. An astronomical telescope with a low-power eyepiece will probably provide the best view of all.
