A Falcon 9 rocket is tentatively scheduled for launch Saturday (February 7) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated to leave south base during a 9:05 a.m. to 1:05 p.m. PST launch window. Following liftoff, the vehicle will probably fly towards the south-southeast and roughly parallel the coast as it carries 25 Starlink satellites into orbit. Eight minutes after launch, the first stage will attempt to land on a drone ship positioned down range.

Weather permitting, the orange flame from the first stage could be visible to the unaided eye up to 100 statute miles from the launch pad and either side of the Falcon's flight path. The vehicle will also probably produce a white vapor trail during the early portion of the first stage burn. The second stage burn will likely not be visible to the naked eye.

For a better view of the launch, use tripod-mounted binoculars or a spotting scope. An astronomical telescope with a low-power eyepiece will probably provide the best view of all.
