A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch Friday evening (May 9) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated to lift off from south base at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time and carry 26 Starlink satellites into orbit. Eight minutes after launch, the first stage will attempt to land on a drone ship positioned down range.

Weather permitting, the event could be visible to the unaided eye from as far away as 100 statute miles.
