This evening's (March 28) launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. appears to be on schedule. The vehicle is slated to leave south base between 7:30 and 11:24 p.m. PDT.

If the launch occurs early in the window, observers as far away as Sonoma, Reno, southern Colorado, southern Utah, and El Paso may be treated to an interesting display as the rocket's exhaust is illuminated by the Sun at high altitude against a dark sky.
