[Launch Alert] Falcon 9 Launch Creates Light Show

A Falcon 9 rocket carrying several Starlink satellites was launched this evening (March 18) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle lifted off from south base at 7:28 p.m. PDT and headed towards the south-southeast as it roughly paralleled the Pacific Coast during its climb into orbit.

The launch took place shortly after Vandenberg SFB sunset and the rocket exhaust was illuminated by sunlight at high altitude creating an impressive Twilight Effect.
