[Launch Alert]

This evening's (July 1) launch of an Alpha rocket from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. appears to be on schedule. The vehicle is slated to lift off during a 9:03 to 10:20 p.m. PDT launch window and carry NASA's ELaNA 43 mission into orbit.

If the launch occurs early in the window, the southwestern U.S. and northwest Mexico may see an interesting display as the Falcon's exhaust plume is illuminated by the Sun at high altitude while suspended in a twilight or dark sky.
