A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch Wednesday (February 14) afternoon-evening from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated lift off from south base between approximately 4:30 and 6:17 p.m. PST and carry several Starlink satellites into orbit.

If the launch occurs early in the window, the Sun will be above the horizon along the West Coast. This would limit launch visibility to approximately 100 statute miles.

However, for eastern Arizona, western New Mexico, southern Colorado, far west Texas, and north-central Mexico, a 4:30 p.m. liftoff would occur during dusk. That means the rocket's sunlit exhaust plume would be suspended in a semi-dark sky.
