A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch Saturday evening (December 28) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated to lift off from south base at 5:48 p.m. Pacific Time and carry 22 Starlink satellites into orbit. Several minutes after launch the first stage will land on a drone ship located down range.

Weather permitting, the launch could be visible to the unaided eye over a wide area. Since liftoff occurs long after Vandenberg sunset, the rocket's exhaust may not be illuminated by the Sun at high altitude.
