A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch midday Thursday (May 2) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated to lift off from south base between approximately 11:30 a.m. and 12:22 p.m. PDT and carry the WorldView Legion 1 and 2 commercial Earth imaging satellites into orbit.

Unlike many Falcon 9 launches, the rocket will probably fly towards the southwest away from land instead of paralleling the coast.
