This evening’s (April 13) launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg SFB, California appears to be on schedule. The vehicle is slated tolift off from south base at 11:47 p.m. PDT. Following liftoff, the vehicle will probably head south as it carries several small satellites into orbit.

Weather permitting, the launch should easily be visible to the unaided eye for at least 200 miles. Observers in outlying areas with an unobstructed horizon, dark sky, and who know where to look may see the event as far away a Petaluma and Sacramento, California; Reno, Nevada; southwest Utah,western Arizona, and northwest Mexico.
