Saturday morning's planned launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base appears to be on schedule. The rocket is slated to lift off from south base after sunrise and will probably fly from north to south as it places the SARah-1 German military Earth-imaging satellite into a polar orbit.
 
If the weather is clear, the first few minutes of the event could be visible to the unaided eye for more than 100 statute miles.
 
The launch time is unclear because reliable sources are giving contradictory launch times of 06:20 and approximately 07:00 PDT.
