A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch late this evening (August 30) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated to lift off from south base at approximately 10:30 p.m. PDT and carry several Starlink Internet satellites into orbit.

Following liftoff, the Falcon 9 will climb vertically and then probably head south. If the sky is clear, the launch may be visible to the unaided eye for hundreds of miles. The best view of the launch will probably be had in southwest Lompoc or along the coast from Gaviota to Point Mugu.
