Wednesday morning's launch of a Minuteman III strategic missile from Vandenberg AFB appears to be on schedule. The vehicle is slated to lift off from north Vandenberg on February 5 during a 00:08-06:08 PST launch window.

If you are an early riser located in central and southern California, you may want to look for the sunlit exhaust trail from the launch. Search the sky between 50 and 30 minutes before sunrise for a twisted, milky, or otherwise unusual cloud. If you see such a cloud, it may be the exhaust from the Minuteman. The cloud will probably drift slowly away from Vandenberg AFB towards the east-southeast.
