The above schedule is a composite of unclassified information
approved for public release from government, industry, and other
sources. It represents the Editor's best effort to produce a schedule,
but may disagree with other sources. Details on military launches are
withheld until they are approved for public release. For official
information regarding Vandenberg AFB activities, go to
http://www.vandenberg.af.mil.
All launch dates and times are given in Pacific Time using a 24-hour
format similar to military time (midnight = 00:00, 1:00 p.m. = 13:00,
11:00 p.m. = 23:00, etc.).
The dates and times in this schedule may not agree with those on other
online launch schedules, including the official Vandenberg AFB
schedule because different sources were used, the information was
interpreted differently, and the schedules were updated at different
times.

READER E-MAILS
1. Q: "I'm going to try to make it down for the Sept 19th launch.
Is there any idea the trajectory of the launch? Since I'm not
familiar with area, do you have any ideas of favorable viewing
locations?"
A: I am unable to reply to individual requests for information. My
advice would be to carefully read the following web page and to
plan your trip accordingly:
www.spacearchive.info/vafbview.htm
Something important to keep in mind is that launch dates tend to
change over time. This makes the long-range planning of trips
to see specific launches difficult.
2. "xxxx xxxxxxxx said I might be able to get on your list to hear
about future VAFB rocket launches and such..."
"Please change my email address to xxxxxx at xxxxx.com. Then delete
xxxxx at xxxxx.com."
"Please remove me from your mailing list."
Launch Alert is a self-serve mailing list, meaning that you handle
subscribing, changing e-mail address, and unsubscribing. I have
over 10,000 addresses on my distribution list. I prefer to use my
time creating content for Launch Alert instead of maintaining the
distribution list.
3. Q: "Do we know if there will be landing attempts for any of the
Falcon 9 launches listed here?"
A: Unfortunately, I don't have that information. I cover Vandenberg
AFB rocket and missile for a major regional news outlet; I would
like to fit that information into my stories. However, I have
been unable to obtain much information about SpaceX's near-term
plans.
4. Q: "Was there some kind of missile launch off malibu going
inland??? about 20 min ago"
A: An important point to keep in mind is that ballistic missile,
satellite, and missile defense test launches do not head inland.
Also, if you didn't hear about a launch in Launch Alert, it
probably wasn't a launch. However, once in a great while, the
U.S. Navy conducts a Trident ballistic missile launch from a
submarine off the California coast.
5. Q: "What do you think of the idea of bringing Launch Alert onto
Facebook?"
A: I don't know what the benefit would be. If this is something
that would require my time or money, I'll pass.
6. Q: "Just wanted to know if you have a app for the iPhone"
A: No. I'm not sure how an iPhone application would benefit my
readers. Again, if this is something that would require my time
or money, I'll pass.
