That was a legitimate e-mail that was generated automatically by the Launch Alert newsletter server. The message was intended to provide you with a copy of your Launch Alert subscription password.

Launch Alert is a self-serve newsletter. All subscribers are responsible for signing up, changing addresses, and unsubscribing.

Knowing your password is necessary for you to manage your account.
