caught a glimpse of the rocket powered flight through my binoculars
just before the first stage went out.

Apple Valley

I do believe that I could see exhaust on the horizon. Or at least I
want to believe I could see it. I am in apple valley Ca. and I was
looking to n.w. it was low on the horizon, It could have been cloud
cover but it would have been the only clouds visible from my
location.

West San Jose

Saw rocket exhaust, we were looking south.
The exhaust was more southwest.

Jeff Wagner
Santa Cruz

I watched it from the waterfront in Santa Cruz. I couldn't see the
L-1011 but I did see the Pegasus once it fired up. I could see the
flame as well as a clear exhaust trail until well after 2nd stage
ignition, through binoculars and with the naked eye. Very exciting,
and nice to have a clear evening on the coast up here to view this
event.
