[Launch Alert] Launch Weather

The launch appears to be on schedule for 1:24 p.m. PDT today.

Somewhat to my surprise, the sky is quite clear here in Summerland near Santa Barbara. However the NOAA satellite image shows what appears to be fog or clouds over the hill up at the launch site (http://sat.wrh.noaa.gov/satellite/1km/Oxnard/VIS1LAX.GIF).

This isn't surprising. Several years ago I studied satellite images of cloudcover along the California coast and found the Vandenberg area to be the foggiest/cloudiest place of all.
