                     MINUTEMAN III LAUNCH DELAY
                     Vandenberg AFB News Release

Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. – An unarmed Minuteman III
intercontinental ballistic missile did not launch as scheduled.

The missile test was a part of the Force Development Evaluation
Program, which is responsible for testing the reliability and accuracy
of the weapon system.

An Air Force team is currently investigating post flight analysis of
range data to determine the cause.
