Peacekeeper Launch

VANDENBERG AFB, Calif. � Team Vandenberg is set to launch an unarmed
Peacekeeper missile here Wednesday during a launch window that opens
one minute past midnight until 6:01 a.m.

The Peacekeeper missile was randomly selected from operational
missiles at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo. It is part of a routine Force
Deployment and Evaluation program used to verify the accuracy and
reliability of the Peacekeeper force.

The launch team consists of members of the 30th Space Wing and the
576th Flight Test Squadron here and the 400th Missile Operations
Squadron at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo. The launch commander for the mission
is Col. Robert M. Worley II, commander, 30th Space Wing.
