This is Brian Webb, editor of "Astronomy/Space Alert for Southern
California" (also known as Launch Alert). Today I received an e-mail
infected with a virus from Lisa Schriber titled "To provide a link to
another".
I'm not sure if this e-mail was only sent to me or was sent to the
subscribers of my newsletter. If you received the above e-mail, do not open
it. It may be wise to use your anti-virus software to scan your computer
for viruses. If you don't have up to date anti-virus software, go to
http://www.symantec.com and have Symantec perform a free scan of your PC
for viruses via the Internet (a very neat service).
Just for the record, there's only one person who can post messages to the
Launch Alert mailing list, and that's me. Also, I never send out my
newsletter with attachments.
If you didn't receive such an e-mail, be on the lookout from a message
titled "To provide a link to another".
Sorry to alarm you, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Regards,
Brian
