Welcome to the world of optical communications! You are already in the best place to find out all you need due to Tim's efforts. I assume from what you write that you may not have explored all of the pages on "optical links", it would take ages for someone to absorb all the content due to the huge amount of information that is now stored there.


If I can add that a further small contribution from myself will be available shortly in RadCom, the monthly journal of the RSGB here in the UK, from the March Issue. (You may know someone who is a member so you could have access it). It details the early work I have done over the past three years following in the footsteps of the established experts in the field, going on in April's issue to the transverter and LED transceiver I have designed. These latter two circuits are shown in Tim's project pages. I hope this helps.
