I'm not quite sure what you're saying. What "record" are you talking about?

The difference between using flashlights to communicate with Morse code and
true weak-signal laser work is perhaps similar to working FM on a VHF or UHF
band over a distance of 20 miles compared to true VHF weak-signal work over
hundreds or even thousands of miles.
