Laser light is dangerous for eyes above 1/10 mW mm² (0,1 mW) even in the
near infrared.
The use of special optical devices (beam expender) which strongly enlarge
the beam at its start point (but not the beam divergence angle) is mandatory.
A more than 8 cm in diameter output lens is a good choice.
After a more than one Km beam travel, the laser coherence is lost because
the air molecules effect and the light is nearly the same a LED one.
My 120 mW laser IR diodes GH078JA2C are from Digi-Key.

didn't know that you could buy a 95mW (or even 400mW, if you want to spend
more) laser so easily...
Aren't they dangerous for the eyes ? Has anybody bought from them ?
