I thank you ALL for the overwhelming amount of information on this subject.

My optical transmitter 2.0 will allow linear modulation. In the beginning we 
will stick to QRSS MCW, that anyone can read just comparing the screen to a 
Morse table. Anyway in one hour time I will buy the components to reproduce 
KA7OEI's simple modulator circuits.

Will keep you posted on my results, even if someone has already been there.
