hi Yves
That is a really interesting experiment. I think we all
want to hear more about it when you get more info. Are you
sure there are not any 60hz power grids near France that
the signals could have come from? But even if they came
from a nearby country it is still a major deal to be able
to detect them reflected in earth-shine from the moon.
It looks like the next total eclipse is just a couple
months away on Aug 28th, but it wont be visible from France
or europe. It might be a good time for everyone else to try
pointing their equipment moonward. The aussies and eastern
asia would be listening for 120 hz and the americans
listening for 100 hz signals. I noticed Japan is on 60hz
power so the 120hz signals from there might be much
stronger in australia than the american signals im
guessing. Australian and asian 100hz signals also look much
weaker, on the light pollution map, than from western
europe.
First of next year (Feb 21) there will be another total
eclipse visble from both europe and the americas, so maybe
by then more people will be able to try this.
I downloaded that HomePlanet program the other day after
reading this and it works great. I got the 'lite' version
since i'm on dialup.
