[Laser] Error in G0MRF receiver circuit?

Hi,
while waiting for my ChinaCheeapo laser keychain pointers and OPT202 
photodiodes, I'm preparing to build the receiver.

I spotted G0MRF's circuits, that should support OPT202:

However, comparing the "single-supply" figure on the OPT202 datasheet 
with the circuit shown on that page, something puzzles me.

The zener diode on the datasheet has a resistor coming from +Vcc, while 
the resistor is missing on MRF circuit. I tend to think that the 
resistor slipped from MRF's circuit, and datasheet is correct (also 
according to my knowledge of how zeners work).

Anyone can comment?
