Very true.  But then I have a very small antenna...6
cm compared to 40 cm is worth about 3 stellar
magnitudes if I calculated it correctly.

Yes, that was very noticeable, by ear.

I may try Spectran, but it may not work very well on
my receiver because the interstage coupling is
designed to have the response roll off below a few
hundred Hz.  I wish stars were modulated at 500 Hz !
