Safety notes to answer to some direct mails.
It seems important to specify that we are not irresponsible ones and that
our laser is equipped with a large diameter and very short focal collimator.
Because our laser diode very wide junction size, it gives 1000 m away, a
rectangular very thin beam presenting more than 300 cm by 10 cm section. It is
why all the modulated 400 milliwatts effective power is distributed on 3000
cm². That represents approximately 0,1 mW/cm ² that is to say less than tenth
of a class 1 laser pointer power ! The exposure time to this invisible ray
with negligible power density, according to the speed of any planes and the
firing angles, could not exceed in all the cases 1/10 S ! For us only one risk
exists at short distance. Apart from the use of special glasses, two
rocking-lever switches with mercury maintain a safety for all accidental aiming
changes.
