Do you have any feel for how much the noise floor rises
in your system with daylight?
Kerry,
Our receivers are fully unsuitable in daylight.
But, with a good dielectric filter centred on 800 nm, it is probably
possible.
Our night signal was at -12 dB under global noise.
In daylight, with the filter the residual light could give up to 30 dB extra
noise because the WOLF detectivity limit is near -45 dB.
But at this S/N level, WOLF-GUI will need may be half an hour to decode the
message...
You give us a good project because with a residual light the RX speed goes
up (PN Rshunt photodiode goes down) and in daylight the spurious lines from
city sodium lights are not present.
Without these spurious lines other programs like the K1JT JT65A could be use
!.
We will test this option a day with F8DO
Yves.
