I would encourage the use of LEDs rather than LASER, IF, this will be 
a demo where the access is uncontrolled.

If you are sure you can prevent observers from looking into the LASER, 
and you are willing to accept any liability that might ensue, then a 
LASER is the ultimate "buzz word".
