Very good. Congratulations. It is good to hear some substantial work is
occurring in Mexico. 70 km is a long path for light. If you have been
reading this reflector, you have read of the long paths being bridged in
Australia too. They are using more power though, maybe 5 or 10 times higher
optical power. I do not remember exactly. Chris, refresh my memory.

Subject: [Laser] NEW RECORD XE

Dear friends glad to give some info about my new record on Laser, the old
was 44.5 km and today we can complete 2 way QSO on CW with XE2ZB at
70.325km...
The conditions were good , cold and clear and in 10 min both transmitters
were aligned, now we are expert :-)
On both side 3mw lasers and 4 inches magnifiers on the receiver with Ramsey
modified with OPT101, we canot hear diference in level between 44.5 km and
70 km.
On my side I build a G0MRF receiver , first one , with a OPT101 and the
volume was great but may be because the TL071 the noise was high and I can
hear almost the same between both receivers..
David many thanks for your help.
I know that the OPT301 is better that 101 so if someone have 2 for sale pse
send me an email...
Now all is ready to work the 5th grid, I hope soon we can do the next test..
And thinking to use a 10mw laser :-)
Thanks and have a great day
Al
