There is a basic problem with this approach. The camera frame rate is the
sampling frequency for the signal. Depending on the interlace, this is typically
30 or 60 sps. The sampling theorem limits the information BW to 1/2 of the
sampling rate.
Also, processing video frames in real time is non-trivial.
IMO, a photo diode is a better approach.
