I also received several which we ordered for our local group. I plan to put
an old blade in my bandsaw & try cutting the rubber off one this weekend.
I'll provide a report once that's done. They look like high quality units &
compare nicely to several other types I have. I also just received some of
the 910 nm 1w laser diodes on Ebay. I do believe they are pulse type
only. I fired one up in pulse mode and it puts out quite a singal. I plan
to heat sink one to see how far it can be pushed in duty cycle. I'm using a
CCD camera to observe it and a high speed photodiode feeding into a 50 ohm
preamp to my oscilloscope as well. Does anyone know of a cheap source for
IR protective goggles? All of the goggles I have seem to transmit IR too well.
