i was thinking maybe just one "bare" laser diode
pointed straight down with a small hemispherical
diffusion screen to spread the beam out a bit. Then
you could use an even narrower filter than for leds if
one is handy. I like the steadycam mount idea. But if
one of those isn't available, maybe three or four
small low friction bearings in series, used in
conjunction with a single "wind-vane" to keep the
whole thing pointing into the wind. Some sort of tail,
like on a kite, might keep it from swinging so much
also
