Hi Everyone,

Some number of years ago, someone on this list gave me an 850 nm laser
repeater consisting of a fiber optic input receiver (APD) and an LED
transmitter (also fiber optic).

My interest has grown away from wideband and high speed communication via
laser, so I don't need this anymore. If anyone wants it, it's theirs for
the price of shipping.

The APD needs a 300 volt bias supply, it's not included. It's fully
documented with large schematics. On the front panel, there are 2 fiber
optic ports labelled receiver and transmitter. On the back panel, there is
a db 25 pin connector. It is called a 'repeater', which I think takes the
signal, cleans it up and re-transmits it making longer distance fiber optic
links possible. It is made by Artel Communications, circa 1988 (according
to the documentation).

The transmitter board has a 20.832 Mhz crystal on it, which appears to be
the frequency the data is modulated on.

Anyway, the tx/rx assy and the docs are available to anyone who wants to
pay postage. Please reply off-list.
